What ProperIpTv is
ProperIpTv is a player for an IPTV service you already subscribe to. It comes with no channels, no films, no series and no playlists, and it is not affiliated with any provider or broadcaster. You sign in with the server address, username and password your own provider gave you.
Signing in
Providers usually send a long link that looks like
http://example.com:8080/get.php?username=…&password=…. You do not
need to pick it apart. Copy the whole link and tap Paste on the
sign-in screen, and ProperIpTv fills in the server, username and password for
you. Your password is stored in the system Keychain.
Common problems
“That address answered, but it isn’t an IPTV portal”
The server field needs the portal address, usually including a port, for
example http://example.com:8080. A website address will not work.
A channel says the provider refused it
Most IPTV subscriptions allow only one stream at a time. If another phone, TV or computer is watching on the same account, the next one is refused. Stop playback on the other device and try again. Settings shows how many connections your account allows.
A 4K channel plays without AirPlay or Picture in Picture
That is expected. Some providers send 4K as HEVC inside MPEG-TS, which Apple’s own player cannot open. Those channels fall back to a second decoder built into the app so they still play — but AirPlay, Picture in Picture and the native playback controls are not available on that path. Where your provider offers the same channel in HD or FHD, ProperIpTv prefers it for exactly this reason.
Movies or series are empty
Large catalogues take a few minutes to load the first time. Live TV works while you wait. If a library still looks empty afterwards, open it and use Load now.
The guide is empty for a channel
Programme data comes from your provider. Not every channel has any.
Requesting deletion of your data
ProperIpTv has no servers and no accounts, so there is nothing for us to delete. Everything the app stores is on your device: delete the app, or use Settings → Sign out, which removes your password from the Keychain.
